Communications with those we are both familiar with and less familiar with, can sometimes feel like we are engaged in an aggressive tug of war. It isn't so much that we are communicating "to win" as much as it feels like our messages are not quite understood.

CAN YOU RELATE?

So what can we do to make communication less of a battle and more of a pleasure? Pick up the slack! That is a metaphor, meaning you should use language that is concise yet easy to understand. Then, by asking questions - you can easily determine whether or not you are being understood.
